We went along with my friend Mel, her son Luka and Mel's mum Pip. We were a little worried as it had poured down with rain that morning. We had hoped it had cleared and walked from our house to the Show. It was pretty humid so the first thing we did was go through the sheds full of the craft. We were a bit dissapointed with the presentation and amount. It wasn't as a good as last year and was in amongst retail stalls which I thought was odd.
The boys had been so well behaved that we let them loose. The first thing they went for was the ride on lawn mower display. Getting them from there to the animals was not as easy as we thought!
They loved the baby animals but it seemed so did everyone else, it soon got pretty overwhelming amongst the crowd so we walked outside to get some fresh air. We walked straight into the Toyota Precision Team doing their thing in the utes. Well, did the boys think that was the bee's knees or what!
We then wandered through the stalls and the rides and the boys had a turn at both. Dante won a pirate sword (something he has been coveting for the last week!) and Luka asked to turn his "top win" Prize in for a sword (the loser prize so the Carny told us) also.
swords in hand the boys then decided which rides they would go on. We had chosen and were placing them into position when a sudden down pour got us. Joe had to race him and Claudia off out of the rain, and the Carny was nice enough to let us share his umbrella while we waited ten minutes for it to be over. Finally the boys got their turn and loved every minute!
Showbags were our last stop and Dante picked out a Fireman one (Uncle Rob and Uncle Mark will be so impressed!). AFter a much slower and quieter walk home we all fell into various sorts of naps and sleeps and were utterly exhausted. I only just managed to cook up some lemon and herb barramundi with a greek salad (recipe still in experimental mode) before putting the kids in the bath and then bed.
Getting a feel for the ride on mowers - much different to Dantes lawn mower at home!
Sometimes it is just a two man job
Pip showing the boys the baby ducks in the animal nursery
Easy rider
After all that excitement, Dante still had time to help me with washing Claudia

Ally cat that sounds like a great family day out - rainpour and all. I also love that you went home and cooked tea! I reckon it would have been toasted sandwiches in this house! And your right, Uncle Mark thinks Dante should have got two Showbags and sent one to Baby Cousin Erin...XX
